Exclamation Do I need a visa label?

Hey all,

I am writing to ask if any of you know if it is necessary to have the visa stampetd in the passpot, or just by presenting it in the airport is enough?

It might not be necessary, but would be a good idea and will make entering Oz a lot easier.

it will make boarding a plane a lot easier as well. Airlines are duty bound to verify your visa status before letting you on board. Grant letter is a good enough substitute though.

Also once you get here, places like Medicare don't accept visa status without seeing the stamp in the passport.

Thank you very much for all your comments. I'll take them under consideration.

So you know, I asked, because here in Venezuela we don't have an Australian Embassy, so we have to send our passports to Chile (the nearest embassy), and it takes about 15 days.

Well, thanks

If you decide not to get a label before you arrive you can always do it at any DIAC office once you reach Australia, then you will have it for Medicare, jobs etc.

You can get these done without stamp in passport if you have your grant letter and give permission for the agency or authority to use VEVO Visa Entitlement Verification Online.

Much easier to nip into a DIAC office and be given a stamp

Not when you don't live near the major cities.

Exclamation Do I need a visa label?

Hello everyone, I've recently got an email from my CO saying that i've met all the requirements for my 175 visa application. I'm currently in Oz on a spouse visa.

Anyway, my wife and I are going to take a short trip over to Wellington, NZ to wait an email explaining that the application has been finalized and I can re-enter as a PR. YAY!!!

My question is: Do I need to give my passport to the consulate general to get the visa label on it before I can re-enter?

Thanks in advance for your help.

No your visa is electronic and you won't need a label to re-enter. However it is considered to be a good idea to get one at some point.

Default Visa grant - must leave Oz to obtain

Hi, my son has recieved his pre-grant email for 176 visa and now must leave Oz in order for it to be granted.
my question is - how long must he be out of the country ( he is planning a trip to Bali for 5 days, if this is sufficient) and
does he have to present to the Australian Consulate with the grant letter or is it done electronically?
any info would be greatly appreciated, thank you
