Sorry, but I'm not prepared to take on the task myself of posting the email response each week IF no-one else does and I happen to remeber I'll email them, but as I'm not waiting for a visa myself I'm making no promises.

GENERAL SKILLED MIGRATION
ADELAIDE PROCESSING INFORMATION

This is an automated e-mail response which provides updated information on skilled migration applications being processed by the Adelaide Skilled Processing Centre (ASPC). Please do not reply to this email address as this mailbox is not monitored. Contact details for the ASPC are listed below.

Priority Processing - Change From 1 January 2009

Following recent announcements by the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, in response to the current global economic environment, processing of General Skilled Migration applications gives first priority to applications in the following two categories:

1. Applications with a successful State or Territory Nomination; and
2. Applications where the nominated occupation is identified on the
Critical Skills List (CSL).

Note: Due to the number of applications in the above two categories, on hand and being received, applications not on the CSL, or applications without a successful State or Territory nomination, will be delayed until those applications which meet the processing priorities are finalised. This includes those on the Migration Occupations in Demand List (MODL)

Details of the Minister’s announcements can be found on the DIAC website via the following link:
http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...hats-new.htm#j

Priority Application Processing Information

Applications are now being processed as follows:

1. State or Territory Nominated Applications - once the department has received and approved a nomination from a state or territory authority, processing of the application will commence within 10 working days of that approval. Should you need to, please lodge enquiries about your application via: http://www.immi.gov.au/contacts/forms/gsm/post.htm

2. Applications with a nominated occupation on the Critical Skills List
(CSL) - are being processed in date of lodgment order. Information about the CSL can be found on the department's website at:
http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...kills-list.pdf

Priority Processing Exemptions

Visa Subclasses 485, 476, 487 and 887 are exempt from the priority processing changes. Below is the response I received from ASPC, against my PLE:

Dear Mr Rehman,

Thank you for advising that your nominated occupation is on the Critical
Skills List (CSL). We can confirm that this information has been noted
on your file.

The allocation of applications on the Critical Skills List has
commenced. Each application will be checked to identify if it meets the
priority processing criteria as announced by the Minister of Immigration
on the 16 March 2009. The process to identify applications that meet the
priority processing criteria is ongoing.

If your application is identified as meeting the priority processing
criteria, your application will be referred to the relevant processing
area for allocation to a case officer. Applications will be processed in
date of lodgement order.

From 1 January 2009, the new Ministerial Direction gives priority
processing to applications strictly in the following order:

1. employer sponsorship; then
2. State or Territory Sponsorship; then
3. an occupation on the Critical Skill List (CSL); then
4. Business Skills; then
5. an occupation on the MODL (Migration Occupation Demand List)
6. All other applications

We appreciate your patience as this process is conducted.

Quite conveniently, ASPC has even stopped dating it's (supposedly) weekly updates. Now it is the same as was there last week and the week before.

Of course, they also stopped giving any timelines for Case officer allotment for CSL cases.
So unfair, takes away all the pressure off them ;-)

They starts to write the date at the bottom. Also removed the wording 'Weekly'. So this is not the weekly update but it will be the update of as and when you enquire.

Some of you need to bear in mind that being able to get ANY kind of update is a recent innovation. Not so long back, one submitted one's apliation and one waited and waited and waited, at one time for about three years, before hearing anything at all.
How about being grateful that in today's electronic world at least you have some idea what is happening?

Hello Rehman,
First of all according to you PLE means Post Lodgement Enquiry?
IF yes, what did you mentioned in the enquiry?
IS it that I am also on CSL listing as I applied for GSM 175 visa I am recognised my ASC as 2231-79(J2EE Specialist).
So do I need to raise a PLE to make them KNow that my application is also on CSL list?
I am waiting for response so that I can also let them know about my application.

One more thing, I had mentioned my occupation as Application or Analsyt programmer, When I called DIAC and enquired about my application, the person on the phone suggested me that as I had choosed the wrong occupation , my application cannot be under CSL, to get my application under CSL i need to choose my occupation as Computing Professional(nec).

I raised a PLE for this change and I got the confirmation that they have changed my occupation as computing professional (NEC)

Email I got from Adelaide PRocessign Center is below:

Dear Mr Nayakar, Thank you for your e-mail about your visa application under Australia’s General Skilled Migration programme. I can confirm your occupation has been changed on the 30 March 2009. For any further enquiries about the application you have lodged please refer to our website using the following link http://www.immi.gov.au/contacts/visa...fessionals.htm

Kindly any one suggest .
