Can you renew a UK passport whilst in Australia?
Hello all,
If we are granted our visas and move to Australia next spring, ( that's the
current plan ), Emma's passport will have just over two years left when we
leave. If we do at least a 3 year 'stretch' for citizenship then her UK
passport will expire.
Is it worth renewing now, before we send it off for the visa stamps - or -
is it straightforward to renew your UK passport whilst you are actually
resident in Australia?
Thanks.

Re: Can you renew a UK passport whilst in Australia?
My question follows on from this ... I need to renew my passport as just under 2 yrs left but I've needed it to do medicals etc ... I'm sending off all our paperwork tomorrow - with the current passport number as reference, can I renew safely or could it confuse if they check and it's been cancelled and I've not yet been told new number etc? Does that make sense?

We were filling in our meds forms last night and I am pretty sure I read on
one of the forms I had that the passport shown to the panel doctor should be
the one that entry to Australia will be on.
Surely there must be people on here that have renewed passports
mid-application and can shed some light for you?
