Can you add state sponsorship to an already lodged 176 family sponsored application?
I have a 176 family sponsored application lodged in August 2008.
My asco code is on the ACT skills list for state sponsorship and I wonder if anyone has managed to get a state sponsor added to an already lodged application. This would make me a priority case for a CO.
Cheers,
Dave

Hi Dave
Yes - this is not a problem. I have checked with ACT and they confirm that UK passport holders are considered to have met all their English requirements - eventhough some occupations require 6.5, and some 7.0, standard.

Hi Tony,
Thanks for all your advice. This post was the final piece of the puzzle.
Can I convert by current (already lodged August 2008) 176 family sponsored to 176 ACT state sponsored?
Cheers,
Dave

As I just said on another similar post:
When you apply for the 176 you need either a family sponsorship or a state sposnorship - if the State sponsorship comes in during the application, that is fine, they will pull it straight out and start processing it. You may not know which sponsorship was approved and so can assume, unless told otherwise, that you were approved for a family 176 and the State undertaking does not apply.
