Birth Certificate Translation Hindi ----> English
Hello,
Form 47sk say that any document other than english needs to be translated by accredited NAATI translator. I searched for them on www.naati.com.au, but found no relevant data. Please advise if anybody else has faced this kind of problem. I need to translate birth certificate for myself which is in Hindi to English.
Regards

Hello,
Page 52 of 1119 booklet says 'Documents in languages other than English must be accompanied by an English translation completed by a translator accredited by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) OR BY A TRANSLATION SERVICE THAT HAS BEEN APPROVED BY THE RELEVANT GOVERNMENT AUTHORITY IN YOUR COUNTRY.'
I don't know why this differs from form 47sk, but I think it's acceptable to get docs translated by a professional service in your country.
Also I think I've seen some Indian people on this forum accredited by NAATI, they could do it for you. Maybe you can email them viawww.austimeline.com
Good luck
Hope

You're correct. DIMIA requires documents to be translated by a competent body/agency/authority recognized by the local foreign government.
NAATI accredited translators overseas are almost impossible to find in any case...

I would check with the Australian Embassy where you are living (Dubai?) Here in Cairo the embassy publish a list or translators who are acceptable to the Aus embassy, which I would think means acceptable to DIMA.
I guess not all of them would be able to tranlate from Hindi, but with the number of Indians living in Dubai, may should offer the service.
Goodluck
