Default Australia medical

Hi
Few short questions regarding the medical checks:
What tests are done?
Is it age dependent?
Do results compiled in the origin country or sent to AU?
If sent to AU - who is responsibile to send it? clinic or me?
Which duration is given to perform it from DIMIA note?
Do you meet and interviewed by a doctor?
Do they ask/check your medical history?
What is the pass/fail criteria?

Regards

It's not that much of a medical.

You get two forms, one for the xrays and one for the doctor. You go
get your xray, and they take 2 of your chest and then they fill them
in, looking for who knows what. Unless you actually know you have a
problem you are fine. Its far less strict than say a flight medical.
Or a company medical.

The doctor tests are listening to heart and lungs, check urine, check
blood, check reflexes, test eyes. It's quick, you get the same type of
check up from the doctor every time you go anyway.

The results are filled in right there and then, and then sent on to
AU. Just check who is meant to send them on. When I did it the doctor
did, but I have heard that now you do?

You have 49 days I think to get the medical done. It's plenty of time.

They ask you for medical history. What they check on when it gets to
Au is another thing. The local dr is really just filling it in. The AU
authorities then decide if you pass or fail, but the local dr can give
you a good idea.

It's not a big deal. I got really tense about it and was expecting the
type of medical we used to get to work in the chemical plant (worked
for a petro-chem company) but it's nothing like that.

Go and do it and relax, its far more stress finding parking at the
hospital.

You can get, from the FAQ, on www.immi.gov.au a good list of things
they look for. I think you can get the forms there too that you can
see.
