Hi Nagendra,

To migrate under the skilled migrant scheme you will need to have a skill in demand. Check the list for your occupation (http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/_pdf/sol-schedule1-2.pdf). If your job is on the list, it will also tell you who the assessing body is for skills assessment. You may also need to take IELTS. To be eligible for a visa, you also need to be able to reach a minimum of 60 points (this explains everything - http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/booklets/1119.pdf).

Once you are sure you have enough points, have a skills assessment and IELTS you can submit an EOI, and hopefully be invited to apply for a visa. (http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/)

Good luck

NZ PR doesn't count for anything; with NZ citizenship you would be eligible for a SCV, but it is temporary and would not lead to PR/citizenship.

At the risk of ressurecting an old and dead thread..........

Does anyone know if I can travel on a SCV with a UK passport that has been endorsed to show I am a NZ citizen ....or..... if I have to take the NZ passport?

This is the endorsement:
http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...ndorsement.htm

Aus Immigrations says you need to travel on NZ passport, so I suppose I'm out of luck....??

If you are a NZ citizen, can't you apply for the passport?

Yeah but it's a bit pricey at the mo, Christmas having come and all that. Plus I'd have to wait 10 working days and I'd like to go a bit sooner.
Thanks, LL

What about applying for a evisitor online with your British passport if you're only coming for a holiday?
