Is anyone else from August 08 still waiting for a CO? I just don't get it...we're CSL, Low Risk, supposedly very straight forward application (so our agent says), so why do we still not even have a CO??

And from what I can tell from BEUpdate they're already processing some 175 January applicants! I thought they processed the MODL CSL visas in the order they were received?

Does anyone know how CO's get allocated?

We put in a PLE for a CO but haven't heard anything yet...

i guess everyone got their visa, except for me and ryem.......as there is no reply from anyone.............

Nope - some of us are non CSL and are rapidly losing interest.

The incredibly annoying thing is, that we've already here for 3 years, and as we have applied for PR have lost our LAFHA. That means that we're paying full tax with no entitlements in return. We thought this wouldn't be a problem and had hoped to time it so that the visa would come through in plenty of time for my daughter to start school next year.

As it is, this month I've got to find my daughter's overseas student school fees - $4500 straight to the department and then whatever the school will charge for local fees.

Grrrrrr.

WE GOT OUR VISA!!!!

After months (feels like years!) of stressing and moaning (sorry fellow future expatters..) we heard the other day it was granted on the 30th!

Timeline is:
Applied Aug 08 and front loaded medicals and police checks.

Booked flights to Thailand departing in June 09, Arriving Sydney Aug 09, based on agent saying we'd definitely have our visa by Jan 09.

Discovered in April that we were no longer on CSL unless we sat IELTS - OH passed this early May.

Decided to extend our trip and travel SE Asia for 4 months hoping that visa would come through by the time we finished.

Packed up our flat and rented it out in June, and went travelling.

3 weeks ago we bypassed our agents and called DIAC to explain our situation - they put in PLE for a CO.

2 weeks later no news, so drafted a soppy email and asked agents to sent to DIAC (it got rejected when we tried to send it from our email addy). Not sure if the agent ever sent the email...

2 days ago we logged onto emails to find out the visa was granted on 30th July! DIAC we love you

Thanks all for putting up with my moaning - and for those of you still waiting I hope you receive good news soon!
