Approved application
This is the first thread I've posted. However, it comes with good
news: - We applied under skilled independant in March 2002, yesterday
we received approval, the date we've been hoping to migrate is 27 Dec
02, we now have 5 weeks to sell our house, wind down our business,
send our dog and pack, tall order I know!
I would like to particularly thank all those who have posted items of
information, some have been depressing and some pleasing, but it's
been comforting to know that there are others in the same frustrating
situation, my heart goes out to those of you who have been waiting 17
months, good luck with all your applications.
Kind regards
Karen

Congrats.
On the dog front. Have you already started the process ?
I was under the impression that it takes over a month just to
get the import permit.

Hi Karen
Many congratulations and I hope it is all you guys hope for.
Personally I'm sat in the office at 19:15 on a miserable Thursday
night wondering when/if my family will get the same news. Still,
medicals tomorrow so a bit of progress there.
Cheers
Nick

Re: Approved application
Dear All
In answers to your various questions:-
We are heading to Brisbane from the UK
Regarding Harry (the dog) we have started the process, he'll be
leaving the UK on 6 Jan and will spend 30 days in quarantine.
My husbands trade is Floor Finishing, I sent 120 CV's out to
prospective employers, we went out to Brisbane in Oct to enable us to
choose a suitable area to live and a School for our two daughters. We
visited one of the organisations who had replied to the letter and CV,
he offered my husband a job, we requested a letter of appointment, we
also choose a School and asked the Headteacher for a letter, the
letter stated that it would be beneficial for our daughters to
commence their education at the start of the academic year, both
letters were faxed to Adelaide.
Our medicals and police checks were not requested, we just sent them
in hope that it would fastrack the process.
Thank you all for you warm wishes.
Kind regards
Karen
