Applying for Australian Citizenship on a Resident return visa
Hi
We have an Australian resident return visa and are living in Aus and can't find any info on applying for citizenship for Australian . Can anyone point me in the right direction or has anyone else applied this way.
Thanks

You are an Australian PR with RRV for travel. Where are you having problems?

All the info should be on the immi site - http://www.citizenship.gov.au/

I'm struggling to understand the process for us.
In short, we gained PR but never live in Aus for very long appox 6 months. We manged to get a RRV and have now lived in Aus for over a year.
Can we use the time frame of living here on our RRV before applying for citizenship or can we use the time scale of when we originally received our PR?
It's very confusing and I can't find the answers anywhere.

You need 4 years of living in Australia. You are allowed up to one year out of the country so you can use the time before your most recent return towards that. But I would still say you have a couple of years to go as a minimum.

Whether it was a RRV or the original PR visa doesn't really come into it.

That's what I thought. I'll stay put until then!
