Default Applications Still at London

Hi all,

Just an update.

My employer here in the UK asked me whether we had heard anything re our
visa application. My present job is quite specialized and they will need to
replace me should we be successful.

I decided to risk phoning AHC and was informed that they are still working
through Septembers mail at present.

Our additional info was sent October 15th.

Hope this is of use to some of you.

Regards
Mark.

Hi Mark,

Did they give any idea if they are finishing this year or if they are
likely to drag on well into next year.

I am in the same situation as yourself, employer wants to know whats
happening, Friends and family also.

Looks like they are moving the goal post yet again, just as you get to
20 months, looks like it will be at leat a couple more?

I do not think the information is entirely accurate, as whey
requested additional information from me on the 30th August, which I
sent on September 3rd, they then requested medical and police checks
on September 19th, these were then sent on the 30th October, so they
can respond in 2 weeks.

Hi Darren,

Not wishing to chance my arm too much (my call previous to this one found me
on the end of the phone to the most frightening woman) I didn't press the
lady a great deal.

My only other question was to ask about their Xmas break, and she replied
that they will be working up to Xmas Eve. They will then shut for the days
over Xmas.

I would hazard a guess that given the information about them still working
on Septembers received mail that you may hear before Xmas.

If I take this guessing a stage further, and they finished Septembers mail
today. My information had to be in by October 17th, so I figure they'll be
looking at mine hopefully just before Xmas, but knowing my luck probably
afterwards.

The other unknown is how many applications there are still in the system
which need to be looked at prior to yours and mine. For instance Septembers
mail could be more or less mail than say Augusts or Octobers.

Also unsure as to whether the staffing levels have been dropped at London.

I had problems sending them a fax from home so used the works fax machine,
since then I get asked on average twice a week by my employer if I've heard
anything yet.

Hopefully we'll know soon, this last wait is more unbearable than the other
19.5 months have been for sure.

Regards
Mark.
