April 2008 applicant here. Front-loaded everything. IELTS 7+ in each component. No case officer was assigned.

Got my PR on the 2nd Oct.

Snippet from the automated email:

" Independent (VB 885) visa lodged on 16 April 2008 with the Adelaide Skilled Processing Centre (ASPC)."

Out of interest did you use an agent? and do you mind saying what you studied.
After not qualifying for the new 2 year study rule last jan, should have an MBA on completion of an extra year next feb. Hope this will be enough!!

Nice to hear that somebody has got PR! And it also means that there are some movements in ASPC.

However, judging by the fact that you've received the email from ASPC, you lodged paper application. Am I right? (Because all online applications that were lodged after 1 Dec 2007 were moved to BSPC).

Lodged in Brisbane.
The status of all documents changed to RECEIVED two days after uploading the documents. Since there nothing else...

yes I am. Had lodged an application for 885 visa in 3rd week of February 2008 online, and had sent the supporting documents by post. Am still waiting for my visa application to be alloted to a case officer. Anyone who has lodged their 885 visa application online between Jan 2008 and May 2008? Has anyone had any communication from the department yet? Please reply.

Hi all. I can't believe I have only just seen this thread.

Can I also ask when courses people did?
We on my course are quite concerned about the TRA part of the process. We are doing a horticulture diploma which we have to find our own work for. Can anyone tell me of their experiances with the TRA?
