HI. Am a qualified accountant with the ACCA,would like to know what problems (if any) to expect to encounter when I make my application.

I am in the process of getting my skills assessed and also getting references from my employers.

any useful advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

No better advice than to download and read booklet 6 (carefully). In particular pay attention to your work experience which must be in a skilled occupation. Accountant is ok but book-keeper is not, for example.

Have you got a university degree (any subject) as well as ACCA? Also, are you prepared to do the Australian Chartered Accountant program once you arrive in Australia?
