Re: agent or go it alone?
Hello, I’ve posted about this before, but I now have a new query.
Another agent got in touch with me this morning (Global Migrate, spoke to them last year). After doing my own research a few weeks ago I found out that I would not be able to apply for a visa under the occupation of Marketing Manager as they have very strict criteria on seniority and delegation so I would not have passed the skills assessment. However, I could apply under the occupation of Marketing Specialist but currently no states are sponsoring it.
I mentioned this to the lady I spoke with at Global Migrate (a really nice woman, not like the pushy agents I’ve spoken with before during my research) and she said that I would still be able to get everything ready and in order for when the states open up their lists again later this year.
Is this really the case? Surely there is no guarantee that the states will open up this occupation? I feel it’s a bit of a risky move but I am so keen to emigrate to Oz that I want to make sure I have exhausted all avenues!
Thanks in advance for your advice!

Just wondering whether you could get a 190 on the strength of a job offer without having your employment on the SOL or CSOL? if thats the case then you would just need to find a job then secure your 190 visa? Its worth checking with the Immigration website. I hope you're successful in getting what you want

Re: agent or go it alone?
I just started a new thread with this question and then stumbled across this old thread.
I am beginning to gather all docs for ANMAC and book my IELTS (hopefully for April, but reading through this I may need longer to prepare?) So, is it safe to get my references together and sit the IELTS before lodging and paying for my application? Or should I lodge my application first and then send everything in? Apologies if this is a slly question, just want to make sure there's no costly hold ups
