Default Advise Please 457 Visa and 16yr old.

Hi All

We are going out to Redciffe on a 457 sponsored by my employer with a view to look at PR after 6 months if we are happy to do this. However things have taken so long for TRN that we still have not submitted and now my oldest Son has turned 16, he is still at school and obvioulsy a dependant - is there anything else i need to consider through this process now he has turned 16? How will this impact our PR application (probably next summer)?

Would love any advise etc anyone can offer - have read the immi website but real live experience is always helpful.

Cheers
Angi

He can be considered as a dependent until he turns 18

Mege Dalton is an unknown quantity at this point

Just to add, a son or daughter who is 18 years or older can still be considered a dependent if they are "financially dependent" on the main visa applicant. For example, 20 year old full time tertiary student
