Smile Advice for someone without work experience

Hi all,
I have a diploma in Engineering from 2011,and a postgraduate course in Health and safety at work. I am thinking to apply for a skilled migration or any type of visa(to get there),the problem is that I don't have any experience in this area.
What I'm working at the moment is not on their lists. Can someone help me with some advice of what I should start doing.I am open to suggestions.

Thank you

I think you are going to struggle as firstly, you need to check if your skills are on the list. But, then even if they are, you need to pass a skills assesment. This is very work based an normally requires experience to pass. Also, a proportion of the points are for experience in the skill

My advice would be to see how much work experience you need to pass the skills assessment, get a job doing that, and after you have the required work experience hope your job is still wanted in Australia.

What you should start doing is getting the work experience.

Yes, I know that I should get some work experince in engineering but is quite hard to get in,especially when you are a foreigner. Not looking for excuses, I'm sending my CV to companies and trying to match my skills with the requirements. I was thinking that will be quickerto get work experiene in Australia

Unless you're Australian you will be a "foreigner" here, too. What makes you think it will be easier to get experience here when you don't have a visa? Companies are not going to sponsor someone with no experience.

Thank you, you answered my question. I know that I will be still a foreigner but it would be better to try to get exp there to save time. Rather than working here 3 years I can work there 3 years and more but like you said they won't sponsor someone without exp.

It is irrelevant whether it is "better" to get experience in Australia, the fact is that you can't as you don't have a visa.

You will need experience before you can qualify for Visa

You will then find it difficult getting job with Visa + Foreign experience because you will then need "Australian Experience".

So you are trying to compete with others who have Visa and have experience be it foreign?

The main problem I think that it is the lack of experience in my field, not necesarrily the foreign exp. I was trying to say that being a foreign, doesn't matter where is hard to be a professional, especially when what you've studied is out of date and not used in Uk. Need to change my plans, any advice?

What have you studied, and why do you think it is out of date? Engineering is a pretty broad spectrum. More info = more help.
