ACS Re-validation
My skills assessment expired a month ago and I would like to know if I can claim CSL points by re-validation of my assessment which had stated as follows
"Your skills have been assessed to be suitable for migration under 2231-79 (.NET Technologies Specialist) of the ASCO Code, being the skilled occupation that you have intended to nominate in a General Skilled Migration Application.
Based on the provided certified documentation it is the opinion of the ACS that the applicant has 12 months experience in .NET Technologies."
I believe this code is eligible for CSL. I enquired with ACS if I was eligible for re-validation and they replied as follows

* A new application form
* Appropriate payment (A$200)
* Copy of previous assessment letter

Please note you will not be considered for MODL. If you want MODL or if you want to have new education, experience or ASCO Codes considered you need to be re-assessed.
I would like a clarification why I would not be considered for MODL.

Did you already lodge your visa application? If so, it does not matter that it has expired, and you can notify DIAC that you are eligible for CSL processing priority, there is no need for revalidation then.
I believe that the ACS has given you the wrong information, but that may be because they thought you wanted to ADD an MODL qualification to your assessment. On their website:
It does not mention that any previous obtained MODL qualification will be dropped.
And on the re-validation application form:
In particular the last sentence is important here: as MODL can only be granted in a revalidation if it had been previously granted as that exactly is your situation, and indicates that it will be added to a re-validation letter. So I believe they misunderstood your inquiry.

Thanks Sylvia. I thought the same too. I haven't submitted an application to DIAC, so I will need to get a re-validation done.

Re-validation
You are eligible for a "re-validation" application if:
* you have been previously been assessed as suitable as an ordinary Skills Assessment Applicant but your skills assessment result has already expired.
* And your previous skills assessment application was received after 1 October 2002.
Please note that Australian Recent Graduates are not eligible for re-validation.
You need to indicate this on the payment section of the application form that your are applying for re-validation. If you are unsure if you are entitled to a re-validation, please e-mail us and quote your previous reference number. Please also note that if you do not specify you are applying for a re-validation, the ACS will assume your application is for a new assessment, and the full fee will be charged.

I'm still a little worried about the response I got once again from ACS when I inquired if I could qualify for CSL with a re-validation. My email and the response are attached below. This is the second response I received that mentioned I couldn't be considered for MODL. Am I missing something here?

We can go through the same sequence again, but I have nothing to add. The only qualified body to answer this without doubt is the ACS. I think you should give them a call if you are too worried, otherwise include a note that you expect the MODL qualification on your revalidation result letter as you were assessed as such before. I think they have a template that they use for answering these questions as it is exactly the same as before. And my guess it that they have many requests for adding MODL to a non-MODL assessment.

One more question - I believe the IELTS score is valid for two years from the date of test. Could you confirm this?
