Default ACS or DIMIA

Hi All, happy 2007!!

Sorry for asking a trivial question...

I understood that ACS gives IT professionals a ASCO Code and a MODL
eligibility, but about
- the Recent Work Experience:
---who verifies this criteria ? (ACS or DIMIA?)
---how? (based on the exact same documents we send to ACS?)

- the Specific Work Experience
---who verifies these points ? (ACS or DIMIA?)
---how? (based on the exact same documents we send to ACS?)

Tks

This is not quite right. the ACS may verify your work experience to see
if you have worked in an appropriate position to be classified as a
computer professional. They may do this if they have questions about the
documents you submit.

DIMA will verify your work experience to see if you fit the other
criteria for the visa-eg whether you have worked in a skilled occupation
for 12 months. They are not concerned about whether you should be
classifed as an IT professional they want to know if you have worked in
a skilled occupation-in theory you could have worked in any skilled
occupation to satisfy this criteron.

There are lots of other criteria as well-eg the points test. The one I
mentioned is just an example.

The short answer to your question is that either the department or the
ACS (or both) may want to verify your work experience. Verification is
usually done by a phone call to your employer.
