Hi everyone

One of my friend have applied for 887 visa (PR) after fulfilling the requirements of 489 visa to apply PR. There are only 2 condition to satisfy for applying PR.
- lived for 2 years in a specified regional area
- worked full-time 1 year in the same area

She (main applicant) has fulfilled the above requirements but they are asking IELTS (functional English) for her partner even though he had already submitted IELTS for 489 visa.

Please reply if anyone have ideas or experience regarding this.

Here's an idea... give DIBP what they're asking for.

I need to know that is there any alternative for that as her partner is not in a position to do IELTS. Thanks

Why is he not in a position to do IELTS? If DIBP wants IELTS, then they want IELTS. I guess one option is to not do the required test and have the visa refused.

There are other approved tests available or proof of study in English check on the gov website.

Otherwise a second instalment may be required if they are not the main applicant. This entitles them to some English tuition.

If the original evidence is no longer valid (not sure how long it lasts) then they will need to provide it again if required.
