887 Visa Applicants

Re: 887 Visa Applicants
Hey Everyone!
How you going ?
Thanks for starting this thread, its frustrating to read other threads and learn it was about 175 etc etc..
Well, I applied for 887 on 9th January 2009.
- Still no CO.
- No one responded PLE for over 12 WORKING DAYS
- No Work Reference Checked
- No sign of relief.
I have friends who applied on 31st Jan, got CO and Visa.
Someone on 17th Feb, got CO and the Visa approved yesterday!
and story goes one.
Last one being 27th Feb and allocated CO already.
Either all of us here the same CO who is on vacation or Jan files are missing, well most of them!
Any one has anything new to share ?
We can only give ourselves some sympathy by reading about others here..
I am happy to know I am not alone and there are many of you still waiting tho.. not happy that you haven't received your visa yet, dont get me wrong : )

Re: 887 Visa Applicants
I am HR.
But processing time for 887 for HR or LR both shows same processing time.
And the other friends , most of them are from HR. and still got the visa.
This guy from 17th Feb application is a HR and lived in Africa before moving here..

Hi, my friend who applied on the 31st of Jan is HR country... I dont think that has something to do. It is just random and a bit of luck I think...
Which regional area are you guys living in? Have you got medicare yet?

Did they apply online or paper-based? Seems the paper applications are moving faster.

I have got medicare. In fact, I have already used some of the medicare benefits. Would that be a reason for the tardiness?

Re: 887 Visa Applicants
Don't think so, I just asked because I just enrolled to Medicare. I am also wondering if it has something to do with the regional area we are living in.
My friend applied online and is living in Adelaide.

Re: 887 Visa Applicants
Still no news here! As I said, applied (online Brisy) Mid Jan, have checked everyday on the IMMI website - still no case officer and no replies from my emails to them. Getting edgy now because our 495 expires beggining of July. Country of origin = UK.
Best of luck everyone, stressfull times ahead I think!

Re: 887 Visa Applicants
Guys,
This is frustrating.
Was watching Cast Away last night on 7.
Does it not feel like it lol ??
There could be 3 reasons why early Jan to mid jans are delayed :
1) We all have same CO who is on vacation of some sort, may be honeymoon!
2) They are clearly operating on 'lucky draw' mechanism , another friend of mine, 12th MARCH , YES correct 12th MARCH,2009 got the CO, and got the Visa friday !
3) Their system stuffed up in Jan and all files missed somewhere ( very unlikely )
Damn, this is frustrating.
I feel like those scary ride feeling in my belly 24/7!

Didn't you get a bridging visa? Once you applied for 887 you get granted another visa which is extended until you get an answer from Immigration.

Re: 887 Visa Applicants
Hey Guys,
Just a quick update/
After so many phone calls and emails to the DIAC, I have a CO alloted yesterday.
Nothing exciting , but thought you should try calling them as well if you do not see a CO yet, it works for sure.
