Default 887 Visa Applicants

I am starting this thread because most of the discussion in this forum focus on 175/176 visa, and I have found very few posts on 887 or related information. I hope this will be a platform for current and prospective 887 applicants to share timelines and any other issues arising.

Lodged 887 online 16/1/09. Still waiting...
Allocation of CO at Brisbane has been stuck at 29 Dec 2008 for the last 3 weeks

Hi there!
Good to see there are more people here applying for 887. I have noticed that the paper applications are moving faster that the onlines. I have heard of two guys that the process took 4 and 7 weeks... but that is it, havent heard of any other cases.
I applied on 22nd of March, so I guess I still have a long wait...

Afternoon All, we applied for the 887 visa in mid Jan 2009 (online application to Brisbaine) still nothing. Our original SIR visa expires in July. Hope the online applications speed up a bit (we were originally told that the 887 should take 12 weeks maximum if we applied online) Goodluck all!! - p.s 11th April now and still no case officer.

Thanks everyone for posting.

Great to see that people are still having their visa granted, some within 3 months. I hope my turn will come around soon.

I applied just 3 days before you.

The GSMB weekly updates indicated applications up to 15 Jan 09 has been allocated COs. Hopefully it will be just another week of waiting

I read that earlier, so we should have a similar timeline I suppose. It would be nice to get a case officer soon, but it seems ABQ still has not gotten one despite lodging in November. I don't want to get too hopeful, so I will be happy if the whole thing works out with about 6 months of processing time.
