Re: 457 x-ray question?
Nothing, just the xrays, and we thought we had got round having to have them, as the company realised that if you do the 457 for 1 year and have it renewable, which apparently is very easy, then you dont have to have a xray. Though i am glad we didnt end up on that route as it is far easier to have got them out of the way than go through re applications every year

Re: 457 x-ray question?
Just to chip in, I had a bit of an unexpected result from my X-ray. Apparently I have "slightly-overinflated lungs" (am a 30 y.o otherwise healthy recent ex-smoker), Australia House have since sent my medical report to Health Assessment Services (HAS) section in Australia" for them too look at. V.stressful! Fingers x'd, really hope that won't jeopardise the application as I thought it was only TB that was a big no-no....
Good luck, let us know how you get on.

Cheers. This is the latest from my Case Officer; sure I'm the first category!
"In cases where the health concern listed by the panel doctor is considered not to be of high significance for the purpose of the visa, HAS will usually advise the applicant meets the health requirement and we can continue processing or finalising the application.
If the health concern is deemed to be of high significance, HAS will usually request additional documentation (eg specialist reports, medical history etc) before making a further assessment on whether or not the applicant meets the health requirement. Processing times can vary greatly in these cases depending on the type and severity of the medical concern, the type of documentation requested and the length of time it takes for the applicant to provide the requested information.
The timeframe for receiving an initial response from HAS after the results are referred is generally 3 to 4 weeks"
