Post 457 visa question

am i correct in saying that if an employee who has a current 457 visa with an employer can not change employers until a new 457 visa has been approved with the new employer? If the employee does not start work with the original sponsored employer does that mean that their 457 visa is no longer valid?

any help would be greatly appreciated

My friends husband moved employers just a few weeks ago and the new employer would not let him start until the new visa was granted, he was led to believe the old 457 was still valid until new one was granted.

Just been informed by immigration that if you change employer you cant work for new employer until new visa is issued.

Hi

I am in this process at the moment. I am awaiting my 457 with my new employer and have one with my existing. I have a bridging visa in the interim. As I only applied for my original visa in Jan 07, I see no problem in getting the other visa.

But if they decide not to give me a visa for my new employer what happens to my existing?
