457 dismissal by employer - reasons ?

Thumbs down 457 dismissal by employer - reasons ?

hello

first nice forum.

and i have direct a question.

my employer have some 457 working visa employees.

now him fired 2 of them without any reason, the visas from the employees are valid till end of 2012 ?

if this possible ? I always thought that the employer only can extraordinary dismissal ? for example i not come to work or i steal something, etc.

I think this is a quesiton of employment law not immigration. Just because the visa has an expiry date of 2012 does not mean that the employer cannot make somebody redundant or fire them if they have cause to before the end of the visa expiry date.

If they were fired for no reason then that is a matter of employment law, 457 visa holders have the same employment rights as anyone else.
