There is no set timeline for obtaining a 457. Some people wait a couple of weeks, others a few months, others many months. Every case is different and no-one can predict your timeline -and that includes DIAC themselves.

Except when it takes longer.

Or it's granted quicker.

Its been more than month now and updates on online status.

Do they update status immediately or there is some fix time slot?

Will they inform me on my email id or i should seek notification on online webpage only?

Thanks

They update the staus when they get round to it. It has no offical standing and has no ebaring on when your visa may be granmted - many people have their visas granted while their status still reads "documents required"

They will inform you of your visa grant by email if you ticked that option when applying, otherwise by snail mail.

Has your case officer said it will be granted soon? If not, you have no idea whether a visa will even be issued, never mind soon.
