Default 2 year assurance bond

Hi all
Can ayone tell me when the 2 period starts, is it when the main applicant validates or when all people on application have validated?
Is it a consecutive 2 years or can you have holidays or breaks away?
One last question, when can the assurance $5000 bond be claimed back, 2 years after the main applicant arrived or after the whole family arrived, supposing we dont all arrive at the same time.
cheers

As far as I understand it's 2 years from validation. This is worked out for each individual. As far as I'm aware, the bond itself is split so if the family members arrive at a different time, the bond periods for the $3500 and $1500 will be different.

Children under 18 are not covered by the bond (even if they are part of the assurance of support).
