waiting on ITA but the clocks ticking!!
Hi,
Me and my partner are in nz and gonna be settling in new plymouth in january. Currently on a WHV but waiting for my EOI to be verified by auckland branch, and hope to get our ITA sent off by end january (already got police reports ordered etc.)
All good but the only problem is our working holiday visa expires 19th march!! What will happen to us if we send off all our evidence to be assesed including our passports, and we havent heard a decision about our residency application before our current visa expires (very likely looking at process times). Both got job offers, mine on skilled shortage list, will the officer grant us temporary visas or do we have to pay and sort out separate work permits aswell??
Would like to have an idea what to do as currently on holiday travelling about the beutiful south island and cant relax for thinking about what happens if our visa runs out. Sorry its a bit of a rant, hope some of you guys will have some advice. cheers

If you wish to start work at your full-time NZ jobs before your PR comes through, then you will need to apply for temporary work permits. That is a separate application.
No visa = no stay in NZ.
You have your WHV until the end of March.
There is also a visitors visa which does not allow you to work and the temporary work permit mentioned above.
Perhaps talk with NZIS about your concerns. It may speed up your application.
