Default Specialist medical report

I've been looking at ways of speeding my visa application. Immigration NZ have suggested that I could get a specialist medical report done in advance of my medical report being reviewed (which could be a couple of weeks from now), in the off chance that it will be required.

I contacted my specialist's secretary at the hospital who said that it's immigration that need to request this through the hospital's legal department and that I can not request it myself.

Is this true? What have other people done?

Thanks
B

Our Panel doctor referred us, that seemed to work OK.

I contacted my specialist directly via his secretary and explained what I needed

Thanks guys. I've got clarification on this and apparently yes my specialist needs to provide me with the report so that I can then pass it on to immigration.
