Default Is it worth using an immigration specialist?

We are in the very early stages of getting things sorted for a hopeful move to NZ. I was just wondering what thoughts people have on using an immigration specialist? has any one got any positive/negative feedback? is it really worth the 4Kish fee? or is it just as easy to do it yourself?....oh so many questions!!!

No!!! In my opinion you can do all the work yourselves with help from all the kind and helpful people on here definatly not worth paying someone , as i am sure you still have to find and help them with all the info the require anyway. Hope this helps. |And if im wrong im sure someone else would be right!!!!

We completed our forms ourselves, it's not really that daunting once you get started. I wouldn't waste my money and you may find that having a middle man just creates a bottleneck.

By the way we used to live in Stockton too. Hartburn area
we are using an agent to initially assess our situation...but l think after having downloaded the EOI (all 40 pages of it) and read through it it does appear to be quite straight forward...we shall see...

My new employer decided to use lawyers to help me and others joining them. I must say they have been very good, BUT we had every problem under the sun: some difficulties proving relationship, both referred for consultants reports, you name it, we had it. They kept me sane, to be honest. They also put together everything I supplied in a very logical way, and in fact left some of it out (relationship evidence in particular) to make the story simpler than I had presented it, and did so quite rightly, in my opinion.

If we had a straightforward case no I would not have bothered, but when the sh*t hit the fan they have been great.
