Default Skilled Migrant Visa question

If your visa is issued on the back of a job offer, complete with description, but you then take on a different role, with the same company, rather than the job you were issued the visa for is that OK?

I suspect the answer is you have to do the job you were issued the visa for but it would be very helpful if that wasn't the case.

Having rummaged Immigration NZ I think I may have an answer to my own question. I was hoping there might be wiggle room though if you just had a different role on a similar level of salary and employment profession. Under the section on what happens once you have your visa it says, 'Resident visa conditions
If you were granted a resident visa, you must still meet some requirements to ensure you remain a New Zealand resident.
If you gained points for an offer of skilled employment, you must take that job up within three months of your first entry into New Zealand. You must also stay in that job for at least three months and provide us with evidence of having done so.
If you gained points for already having a skilled job that you have held for less than three months, you must stay in the job for a minimum of three months.'

if it is not the job offer you got the visa for then you have to inform INZ who will then consider your status. So yes you have basically answered the questions.

Thanks for confirming MrsF. We'll put that domino back in the box and wait patiently for the right one that will be a permanent position.

Yup.

SMC visa. One stays in that exact same job for at least 3 months.

Work visa. One stays in that exact same job . If one changes that job in any way , then INZ must be informed. A variation of conditions might be possible.
