Returning Visa
Hi All,
I have a question regarding the returning visa, I had to return to the uk for personal reasons and did not fulfill the required amount of time to obtain a returning visa while in NZ. Mine ran out last December.
Has anyone managed to get a new returning visa after theirs had ran out being outside of New Zealand, or has anyone got any ideas on how to get a new one. My visa is a permanent residence visa and I wish to return now. Thanks.
regards
Martin

Yes I am the main applicant, it was just myself, i didn't want to waste money re-applying for a returning visa if there was no point. Thanks for your comment.

Re: Returning Visa
I think that if you return to NZ with a valid Residence permit but an expired RRV then immigration will let you in as a visitor.
You then have 6 months to go to an immigration office and get a new RRV. They will, of course be a charge for this.
Even if you don't meet the requirements for an indefinate RRV, they can issue you with a time limited one and you can apply for the indefinate one when you do qualify

With respect, I would suggest to the original poster to consult with a New Zealand immigration lawyer on a professional basis before making an unsuccessful attempt to get residence back.
