Hi know how you feel, referral is usually 3-4 weeks, you might need to get additional information from a specialist it depends on why you have been referred.

Good luck

Any questions just send me a pm

Karen

the referral process is the worst of the lot!
Lots of to and fro and extreme scrutiny of records etc.

Hope it all goes well.

One word of advice try and have as much info to hand as you can to cut down on time sending documents between you, the case officer and the the MA.
The long delays happen whne you send stuff in to your case officer, they put it in their to-do pile, it eventually gets sent in the once a week deklivery to the independent medical assessors who then go through the pile.

If the MA has questions, which they will, they write back on your file which then gets sent back over to the CO who then contacts you.....

As you can see weeks and weeks go by while this is happening.

Hi, both my husbands and my medicals caused problems!! mine was some minor problem with my blood count, which i've had ten yrs and nobody has bothered to follow it up but i had to go and see a specialist and get a report to confirm there was no major problem! My husband had to also get a specialst report and his consultant was naughty and left it fairly inconclusive and suggested he needed another test (rather than telling us direct and getting it done!). So we had to wait for the test and then the results, which was over xmas, it set us back about 3 months. The CO's are very picky-which i guess is a good thing!! we eventually got PR last week-but got to sell house!! Good luck, it seems to drag and you can get very frustrated but it'll all be fine. any medical problem has to be quite serious/expensive for them to turn you away and at times you feel like they're acting over the top but really they just need all the info!! x

Thanks for the replies
Hmm sounds like we've got quite a wait then and a lot more nail biting to do.
Well done getting the PR and good luck with the house selling (we are in the same boat unfortunatley)
