Default qualification in skills shortage

Hi

if you have no work experience (ie less than 2 years so not claimable) can you still claim bonus points for a qualification in an area of absolute skills shortage.

Read somewhere that you couldn't - HUGE panic now cos that's what we were relying on!!

Default Re: qualification in skills shortage

Hi,

I don't see why not as it comes under a different section on the EOI. It asks whether you have a qual in an area of skills shortage and if you have then it asks what it is. Then you get more points

Also when they do the selections, those with work experience in an area of skills shortage are picked out and then the next choice down is those with a qualification in an area of skills shortage. So obvously those with a qualification but no work experience are in a separate category.

Good luck
Sue
