Police check for other countries
Hi All,
I am currently about to undertake the daunting task of residency in NZ under the partnership policy. I am currently engaged to a my kiwi girlfriend. The requirements ask you for a police certificate for any countries you lived in for 12 months or more in the last 10 years. I spent exactly 11 months and 28 days in Oz (on and off), does anyone know if this is still classed as 12 months? I have called the NZ embassy in London, and the woman on the phone very unconvincingly told me I don't need a police check for Oz. I have also looked into obtaining a Aussie police check, and it isn't exactly hassle - free! Can anyone shed anymore light onto this? Any other advice would be greatley appreciated! Cheers guys......

Re: Police check for other countries
We too lived in another country (Cyprus) for 11 months and a few days and we didn't need a police cert for it as it wasn't quite 12 months.
Hope this helps.
