Permanant Residents Visa - NZ partner living overseas
Does anyone know if it is still the case that if you have been living overseas with a new Zealand citizen for over 5 years you can apply directly for a permanent residents visa?
(I realise that this is one of my 'over my dead body questions')

Absolutely.
Also, as far as I know you don't actually have to apply for permanent residency.
All you need to do is apply for partnership resident visa. When immigration see the evidence that you have been together over 5 years they should "upgrade" your application to that of permanent residency instead.
