Hi,

My original contract was sent to immigration for my 2 year visa and they did not return it.

I only have a photocopied signed version. Plus an original looking version in colour - but not signed and dated. I cant just have it signed and dated as i work in a different team to when i started and now have a different boss.

Now they want an original or certified copy for the ITA. So what can i do?

Will a reference with my start and end date, hours worked, roles etc prove sufficient? This is my current employer in NZ I am referring to.

I've asked for that but HR said they'll get back to me.

I also asked them if they have an original signed copy of my contract from which i can make a certified copy. But i doubt it. I have a contract for my previous roles in the UK.

I should have thought about this before when i sent in the original for the 2 year visa (but i wasn't planning on applying for PR back then)

As you sent them in then surely they should be with your file. Can you not ask them to check the 2 year visa application and also to send back all your original documents.

I called Immigration and they said it'll take 21 working days to send it back to me

Better than nothing - still within my ITA time frame

My aim is to send it by the 20th March which is 2 months early so it should work out fine

where was you other visa processed? can they not transfer between departments as would of thought everything you gave them then would have to be seen by the dept dealing with it now?

We had our ITA file emailed over to Wellington from London once the approval had gone through as we are here now and not there.

So they are sending it back to me, then i'll send it back to them!
