Thanks for the above. Just one thing, if you are applying from outside New Zealand, i.e. you are not a student, does the applicant have to be from a "visa free" country? I only ask because if that is the case, it will help a lot of people out on here.

I saw that and then thought it would be more suitable for people from countries that canot easily get into NZ.

I mean Brits can already stay in NZ for up to 9 months and nothing stopping us applying for jobs as tourists.
