Medicals/Police Checks timescale?
We plan on submitting our EOI along with a job offer in April next year. At what point should we arrange medicals and police checks?
My husband will be given up to 3 months to start the job. Would we be dealt with quicker by NZIS if we submitted our EOI earlier without the offer and then informing them when it actually arrives?
Many thanks!

Re: Medicals/Police Checks timescale?
You can update your EOI at any time to inform NZIS of a job offer. EOI with job offers get processed first, and all others are processed thereafter.
As for medicals and police checks; Medicals are valid for 3 months, and police checks 6 months so you need to be sure you have an ITA before these expire as the medicals are approx 300 UKP each - best not to get them done too far in advance.
We have submitted out EOI, and been selected from the pool with 140 points and no job offer and have heard nothing since. Our plan is to start job hunting mid Oct, and hopefully secure a job to fast track our application.
Hope that answers your question,
Lou

We are going through the process now...but sent off for Police checks already and booked our medicals.
We have now got our ITA and have the medicals in 2 weeks.
Police checks take about 40 days to come back and medicals can take up to 5 weeks to book and get back.
If you have got 140 points, you will get picked from the pool in 2 weeks and usually ITAs follow, if your points stand up, with a further 4 weeks.
Hope this helps...good luck.
