Re: family stream...
... and I've just had my one remaining wizened brain cell ,feebly pulse a little.
If you are wanting to arrive in NZ soon as poss. and you are prepared to NOT WORK until your temp work permits are safely in your passports then check out with NZIS if it would be OK for you all to arrive on visitors visas , pending the issue of the work visas . NZIS may well be happy for you to do this and it would give you all a chance to set up a home , find schools etc.
If it is pre-approved by NZIS then there would hopefully be no problemo at point of entry.

Re: family stream...
thanks bev... no worries about not spotting the joke.. i was a bit frazzeled yesterday.
Good idea about possibly all of us entering on a visit visa.
Either way, my plan at the moment is to let my application run until I'm at least given a CO. Then I can discuss with him / her about specifics rather than just talking generally about an application which hasnt been started yet..
Besides, I can't add my wifes and sons (age 18 months) to the application until her police certificates come back.
one piece of good news from yesterday, I managed to sell my wifes jheap. So thats one less headache.
