Confused - Permanent Residency
Hi there. I'd be really grateful if anyone can help! I have a work to residence visa and we're nervously awaiting my partner's work visa to be granted - in the hands of the medical assessor! I know that under my visa I can apply for permanent residence for me and my family after 2 years BUT is there any way that we can get this sooner, if I apply under a different visa category like the EOI route for example? We'd prefer not to wait to apply for PR if at all possible. I think it would help us feel more settled quicker and also thinking it might be less hassle and cheaper to do it from the UK. I may be asking for the impossible here so all help gratefully received. Cheers

If you have enough points under the SMC then there is nothing to stop you applying for PR .
Have you enough points?
Is your occupation considered skilled by NZIS?
