Default work permit renewal

Hi all,
I'am on a post-grad work permit and applied for a new one after HRDC confirmed my job.
Since my current work permit will expire before I'll get the new one, am I still allowed to work between the dates my current WP expires and get the new one?
I will have the same job, same employer...

Thanks a lot,

Ranv01

The simple answer is 'Yes' as long as your application for renewal
is sent before current WP expires.

Thanks anywayok...
You're right.
I just called CIC and they told me I can continue to work, as long as I'm on the same job with the same employer.

Hi Ranv01

I have a question for you i will really appreciate if you answer. I am also on a post-grad work permit, and my employer wants to go through the HRDC process.. But is there an easy way for them to do so, without giving an ad to the newspaper and interviewing people or can they simply say I have been there for an almost 1 year and i am in charge of one of the new project and it is really me that they need... I mean anyway HRDC shos some sympathy to the case or they are strict that everything has to go step by step the same way.... Just curious.. Please reply me....

Thanks..

In my case HRDC asked for the ads of the job (when I was hired, i.e 1 year or less ago).
But the most important thing is that your employer has to prove that they really need you and why it's profitable for the company to have you instead of a Canadian citizen or a PR (I think in your case your employer can prove it).

HRDC needs you to prove that (see HRDC site http://www.hrdc-drhc.gc.ca/hrib/lmd-...mpOffers.shtml):
- The employment of the foreign worker will directly create new job opportunities and/or help retain jobs for Canadians;
- The foreign worker will transfer new skills and knowledge to Canadians; and
- The hiring of the foreign worker will not affect a labour dispute or the employment of any Canadian worker involved in such a dispute.

Or if you qualify for software pilot project, you can skip HRDC
confirmation processing.
