Hi,

Me and my girlfriend just got the marriage license and planned to get married within
3 month. Afterthat I want to get her come over to Canada to live with me! She is an
US Citizen.

The question is.. should I file the application now OR wait after we got the marriage
certificate? It take 12 weeks to order 8-(

What if she wants to get the working permitt during the application processing? Can
she do that?

Thanks for your help!

Hi:

You could immediately file a fiancee sponsorship, and change it to a spousal
sponsorship once you are married.

Once you submit your application for sponsorship, your fiancee/spouse may be denied
entry into Canada as a visitor pending the outcome of her application for Canadian
permanent residency.

I to am a US citizen married to a canadain. I came here as a visitor and we got
married during that time, then I filed my application after one last trip home to
finish my move. So my 6 months started on my return. I did have to redo my visitor
status once, and after about 9 months I was able to get my work visa.
