What happens after I get Permanent Residence status?
Hi
I am going to BC to work as a nurse initially on a work permit but with my Permanent Residency Application already in process through the PNP Program it should hopefully be through within a year. My question is what happens after i get my residency status? Will there be some sort of clause which indicates i can stay resident as long as i stay in nursing, or will i be able to go into other professions if i want to? If anyone has any info on how residency status is maintained i'd be glad to hear.
Thanks

Once you obtain PR you are free to do whatever job you wish.
Permanent Residence obligations are shown here:

Basically you must accumulate two years of physical presence in Canada in every five-year period.

Thanks Rodsey
How about dual citizenship. Does the UK government allow its citizens to also be citizens of another country?
cheers

Yes the UK does. UK citizenship is one of the hardest in the world to get rid of, possibly due to the fact you're technically a subject and not a citizen. Don't worry, you can be a citizen of both no problems.

British Subjects and citizens are different things....have been for a long time.

And in fact, if you are a British subject and not a British citizen, this status can (in some circumstances) be lost upon becoming a Canadian citizen. [section 35, British Nationality Act 1981]
