We just got our medical requests! :)
Hi all - am very pleased to announce that we got our medical requests today!
In addition for medicals for both of us they are asking for: - Updated Schedule 1 forms for both of us - Updated police certificates for both of us Regarding the PCCs, I assume since ours run out on 17th July 2011 they feel it's cutting it a bit close to the wire, hence why they want fresh ones. Really puzzled as to why they are asking for new Schedule 1s. The only change is that my company has been taken over and has a new name, but my job and duties haven't changed and we informed them of it. On the correspondence they sent they gave no indication why they wanted new forms. Ah well, no biggy :) Just very glad to get the medical requests! We're booked in for 1.30pm next Tuesday for medicals. Wayne + Susan :) |
Re: We just got our medical requests! :)
I'm fairly certain at some point we were asked for updated schedule 1s.
Probably routine if the form is more than a certain age. |
Re: We just got our medical requests! :)
That is great news - could you just let me know two things (I am working on a new theory here):
1. Did you apply under FSW1; and 2. What NOC did you apply under? Ta ! |

I am of course green with envy! but still wish you a speedy process nonetheless ;) |
Re: We just got our medical requests! :)
Congratulations to you both...how exciting.
Can I ask; was it via email or post? We are in Canada at the moment and were wondering if something might be sitting on the doormat on our return... Nearly there now...Best of Luck to you. |

We also have a "fairly" simple case - PA+spouse only, 76 points, 8.5 IELTS etc. There are still a couple of October 2010 applicants got medical requests ahead of us, yet plenty of people who applied before us who have heard nothing yet - so I imagine it depends on a great deal of factors! Wayne. |

Re: We just got our medical requests! :)
congratulations! I'm envious of how quick you can book a medical... I have to wait 3 weeks here in Glasgow!

I think it all works on brought forward dates so as long as they get everything before the next brought forward date (guessing that will be approximately 60 days if that's what they have given us) I don't think it'll effect when we'll get PPR. Wayne. |

By PCC's do you mean police certs? I thought they were good for a year once CIC have received them provided they get them within 3 months of them being issued? I'm sure I read that somewhere on here.
Ours expire on 17th July therefore I reckon CIC are not completely confident they will have our visas in the passport by then, therefore they are asking for fresh ones to prevent possible delays in a few months time? A bit nervous about the medicals - got my friend's stag do this weekend and he's brewed 80 pints of home brew, and since I am the best man I can't wimp out on the beer too much! Got Sunday + Monday to recover and the medicals are on Tuesday though so hoping all will be good. Wayne. |
Re: We just got our medical requests! :)
Congrats on medical requests.
We also got a request for updated sched 1, new police check and RPRF at the time of our medical requests. Amazingley there were a few things to update on ours! |

Our PCC's (Portugal) run out (one year old) end of this month, so yesterday we popped up to Lisbon and obtained two more. Takes two hours to drive there and 10 minutes to get them, 7 Euros for two. They'll go off to CIC end of this month to hopefully pre-empt any requests for more at a later stage. Of course how long that later stage may be is anyone's guess  All the best James Mc |

We were asked to use their label when mailing the stuff back to them, and they haven't included a label!! I am guessing it is just the label with barcode + file number that they stamped on all the docs they sent us (and helpfully didn't include for us to stick on the return docs!).
Ah well, guess we'll have to just write our file number and a covering letter with all our info! Wayne. Congratulations on reaching the next stage - don't forget to update your spreadsheets!! ;) our 'label' just looked like a white piece of paper with an address on paper-clipped to one of the letters. On closer inspection it turned out to have a peel off back! I was also asked for a number of replacement documents - can't remember the names but were main application, background stuff and additional family information. I emailed them to ask why they needed new ones and they said it was standard procedure if some time had passed since they were completed. Good luck! |
Re: We just got our medical requests! :)
Congratulations Waggle and Mrs Waggle! Hope it all goes smoothly from here on in!

Re: We just got our medical requests! :)
Great news Waggles (Mr & Mrs!), we had our meds done yesterday, we received our request recorded delivery, we too had to get updated police certs, they have gone off, another £70!! The stickers, ours are just the address with the reference which is on medical request, I would just write it on the envelope. We got two in ours, perhaps we got yours???? DDefinitelythink things are moving, although, when we had our meds done, the Dr did mention that he had had some very angry people who had to do re meds as they had been done over a year ago, so another £200+ per person! You just wouldn't be happy would you? Hope you all get good news soon.

Re: We just got our medical requests! :)
Snap - we got our medical requests on Monday and there was no reply label (no matter how many times I checked!). And no instructions for the medical either so I hope we did it right. I just went ahead and booked it anyway and got it out of the way on Tuesday, didn't want to waste any more time waiting for a reply from CIC. Out of interest what should have been on the instructions?

Re: We just got our medical requests! :)
Ours just showed what the medical would cover, to take medicines with you if you take any and glasses if you were them. Also to take the photos & passports.
|
Re: We just got our medical requests! :)
That's good, I didn't go too far wrong then. It is always a bit worrying when you don't know what you are missing!
Congratulations by the way for getting to the next stage, I've been following everyone's stories and it is nice to finally see some activity. So frustrating for everyone still waiting though...hopefully the wait won't be too much longer. |
Re: We just got our medical requests! :)
 Congratulations, I have been waiting with anticipation to see when the medical requests for post June apps to come in. Fingers crossed ours arrive next month, our application arrived 1/10/10.
I have inserted signature but for some reason its not working  Being 5 months preganant now i wonder how the medicals will proceed for us? |
Re: We just got our medical requests! :)
oh it is working :o
|
Re: We just got our medical requests! :)
We didn't get asked for anything extra with our medical requests... our police certificates must expire in August as that's when we submitted... OK now I'm hopeful that means the process will not take too long once meds are submitted!

I think in our case since they knew it would be "tight" (our PCCs expire mid July) they were playing it safe. We're hoping for PPR by July so we can have the visa before we fly to Canada in late August. Wayne. |

The timing is a bit annoying since I had a heavy drinking weekend last weekend, my friend's stag do this weekend (for which I am the best man) and then medicals on Tuesday! Hoping Sunday + Monday will be long enough to get most of the alcohol out of my system though ;p Wayne. |

do you think that we will need contact London for one or can we just write on the envelope? hope more people hear soon I don't think you really need to contact - all it has on is the canadian embassy address in london, but it also had 3 initials and I took this to be the initials of the visa officer dealing with my case, as these matched email signatures I had received, so if you see three initials anywhere else on your paperwork just pop that above your address when you send your new docs in. I suppose if you wanted to you could send an email, now you are being processed you will probably get a response within a few days. |
Re: We just got our medical requests! :)
I just got mine today too, and guess what - no label! I have also been asked to send a new Additional Family Information Form. But wow, what a relief! :D

Weird, we have not been asked for new Additional Family Information but have been asked for updated Schedule 1s. It all seems a bit random! :) Wayne. |
Re: We just got our medical requests! :)
Big congratulations to the Waggles:thumbup:
great to see some movement, maybe now will start to see benefits of new CIC system with timelines speeding up for everyone  |
Re: We just got our medical requests! :)
Thanks folks :) There does seem to have been a flurry of activity recently! I sent my docs to London in December (my timeline should appear below now) - I'm going through the Quebec Skilled Worker route.

Re: We just got our medical requests! :)
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Waggle, happy days!!:)
Although I'm sure you've made alot of us quite jealous and especially bewildered as to how they at the CIC have processed your case so fast. You applied after June 26th and you're at medicals, that's incredible! but I guess someone deserves to get their visa's, all the best guy's.... Bal:D |
Re: We just got our medical requests! :)
Hi.
Yesterday (Tuesday 19th April) we just got back from our medical exams and wanted to share our experience. We took our medical exams at Tudor House Medical Practice in Nottingham, UK. We got there about 15 mins early. When we got to the desk the lady took our Section A forms and our passports for verification and handed us urine bottle for samples and also a medical history questionnaire to fill out. It was pretty straightforward (have you ever had any hospital treatment/operations, any history of heart disease – about 15 questions in all). It had 3 pages. The back page is the consent form for allowing them to take a blood sample, and the middle page is all the stuff the doctor fills in during the medical examination. Anyway, we had a further 40 minute wait since the doctor wasn’t there and had been called on an emergency because of a mad person! Wink The lady handed us back our passports fairly quickly, I can confirm we did not need to bring photocopies of the bio page with us. Anyway when the doctor got back it was pretty quick. He agreed to do me first since we said I hate needles so the first thing he did was took my blood sample. Then my blood pressure, which he commented was excellent (130/80 not bad for a 38 year old! Wink) Then he examined inside my mouth and throat, inside my ears, and did an eye test without my glasses (no idea why they asked to bring my glasses to the exam because he never asked to see them or to do an eye test with them on). Then I was asked to lay on the couch whilst he took a little hammer to test my reflexes on a few of my joints, and felt my stomach and some of my joints and then asked me to take some deep breaths whilst he listened to my breathing. And then that was it! I’d ticked the “A” box which is no serious problems. Same for my wife (although she was a bit mad that despite being nearly 10 years younger than me her blood pressure was slightly worse than mine! Her eye sight is better than mine though). Then it was off to the local hospital for the X-rays. We were waiting about 15 mins, then they asked my wife to get changed into a gown, and she had her X-ray. I was in there all of 2 mins, the X-ray is standing up so it’s very quick. They confirmed that the image had taken ok and then we left. The hospital said they’d send the X-rays to the doctors today, and the doctors said that all the results should be sent to CHC by Tuesday next week (would be a bit earlier but we have Friday and Monday as public holidays). So CHC should have everything by the end of next week. We just need to give them a call for piece of mind around next Wednesday time to check there were no problems with the chest X-rays or blood tests. Wayne. |

Re: We just got our medical requests! :)
I know what you mean Wayne, I have been shocked to see some of the timelines here - the CSQ route has worked out well for me so far.
Thanks for sharing your experiences! I have a question about the medicals... what are the passport photos for? I have been told to bring x3 to the medical and x1 to the x-Ray (booked for 4th May). |

We took a block of 4 photos and used 1 each for our updated police certificates, but took 3 just in case (since the CIC letters says take 3, even though the DMP only asks for 2). It may vary from DMP to DMP though, so I would take the highest number of photos out of the CIC letter and the DMP instructions and play it safe! :) Wayne. |

Thanks :) There seems little rhyme or reason to the order CHC London seem to be processing cases. One user from canadavisa.com is a London applicant whose application was received at the end of November 2010 received medical requests last weekend. Yet some other post-June-26 applicants who applied in July and August 2010 have still not even gone "In Process" yet!Whereas we're obviously delighted we have had medicals, we do feel sorry for those that applied before us who have yet to hear - and I hope things speed up for them soon.
Wayne. Seems like the "new system" will be as chaotic as the old & older systems. |

We're trying to decide whether to post ours once we get PPR, or take 2 trips down to London to drop off and collect again. I understand it can usually be done in 2 weeks if you do that? The reason I ask is we already have a 2 week holiday to Canada booked at the end of August and would dearly like to validate our visa by then, but also we can't risk sending the passports off and if there is a delay having no passports with which to travel to Canada for our holiday! ;) Any advice would be appreciated. Wayne. |
