waiting for renewing work permit

Hello,
In the begining of May I applied for an extension of the employment authorisation. At
the end of May I receive the letter from the Case Proceding Center, they
transfered the case to the local Case Proceding Center
indicated the id number which I should use in my contact with the local Case
Proceding Center.
asked me do not contact them regarding the status of my case.
In several days my old work permit will expire.
What than is better to do
1) wait more
2) contact them for instructions
3) buy a ticked and leave Canada
4) ???
What punishmed could follow
5) staying in Canada with an expired work permit
6) working in Canada with an expired work permit
