Anyone knows how much time they take to return the passport with a VISA for
spousal application in New Delhi, India.

My wife sent her passport on Dec 10th as requested by the canadian high
commision, the letter said wait for 2 months before enquiring, I was really
hoping it doesnt take that long, its already Jan 16th and no news on the
VISA or the passport.

Perhaps u could give us ur timings with Delhi also please, i.e.:
When did u originally apply for PR for your wife?
When were u approved as a sponsor?
When did she have her interview?
When was her PR application accepted?
Any other points u consider relevant for others in similar situation
to you but several months behind u etc would be greatly appreciated.
I know there are a lot of us interested in this information, you will
see a post from teja ([email protected], posted date: 2003-01-16
23:00:20 PST), he is basically looking for this same information too!

I am sorry to post a question in reponse to ur question, I just need
this information urgently myself.

Hi Uma, Here are the time lines,

- Applied to Missisauga on May 15th 2002

- Got letter that application has been accepted and decision made dated 2nd
July 2002

-Wife got response letter from CHC Delhi dated 11th Sept 2002 (got file
number too).
Now this is what delayed by one month, when they say PC (Police Clearence)
certificate, they want it from the supritendent of police for the city and
not the Passport office in India. Had to get this again, this was stated in
the letter we received dated Sept 11th. They also wanted some more pictures
of our wedding.

Anyway, sent PC on Oct 2nd, got letter again in on Nov 10th that her medical
is would expire by the time she gets a VISA, took medical again (We too
medical in Jan 02 earlier). Took medical roughly around 13-15th Nov.

Got Letter on Dec 7th to send the passport and her interview was waived,
sent passport on 10th of Dec,

still waiting.....

It Seems everytime they require something, they wait for one month to ask
for the next thing.
