Hi ,
I have applied as a Quebec Skilled worker to Buffalo in September 2002. Since then i changed my status from student to work permit in May 2003.
I received a letter from Buffalo, saying that they have insufficient info to finish my background check, they are asking what I have been doing since September 2002, my adress, work and school updated history.
Is this normal that they ask for such info, anybody with similar experience? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you all in advance.
My timeline so far...
June 2002 Applied to Quebec
August 2002 Got CSQ
September 2002 Applied to Buffalo
October 2002 Got AOR and medical instructions as well as RCMP fingerprint request
October 2002 Done medicals and send RCMP fingerprints
November 2002 Medicals and RCMP report were sent to Buffalo
May 2002 Changed status from Student to Work permit.
May 2002 Received a letter asking for more updated info since 2002.

Yes, it is normal for those residing either in Canada or US as
background/security check cannot be completed in those counties without up
to date information. This is one of the reasons why Canadian and American
police certificates are now not required to be submitted with the
application by current residents of one of those 2 countries - certificates
are requested later, close to the end of the process.

One more question if you don't mind Mr.Miller,

Does that mean they have already confirmed and did the background check till September 2002 and going to finalize it after verifying the post-september info, or they are going to start the whole background process after I send the information. Thanks

No, it doesn't mean that. It only means that without updated info they
cannot forward request for background check to RCMP in your case.
Background/security check in other than Canada jurisdictions may be still in
the process or already concluded.
