I'm no expert, but am I right in thinking a positive LMIA will give someone an additional 50 points? If the OP is on 370 on the CRS thingy, this would put them up to 420 points. Isn't this still below the broadly recognised minimum for PR? Or would the LMIA get them a temporary work permit, which may in time lead to PR status?

You're absolutely right, but once they've spent a year working in Canada on a TWP (which the LMIA gets them) they'll also get quite a lot of extra points for Canadian work experience, so that will take them well over the (current) magic number of 430.

Hello,
I am going through the EE process and will be short on points. What is the Irish citizenship benefit as I am Irish? Thanks

I asked the OP as he’s young enough to have been eligible for an IEC visa if he had Irish citizenship. He’s too old for the UK program (age limit for UK citizens is 30 and under), but the age limit for the Irish program is 35. It’s a 2 year open work permit.

So if you’re under 35 too, then do look in to that.

HTH.

Ah, shame. What are you scoring on the CRS, are you borderline or nowhere close?

Another shame! It might be worth starting your own thread with info on your job, scores, circumstances (and your spouse’s job and score too). At 350 there’s really no point in paying for IELTS & ECA and applying under EE (unless you’re in a skilled trade job), but other visa routes may well be possible.
