U.S. Children Visitung Canada Please Help!

I want to visit Canada from the U.S. I would like to bring my 13 and 14 year old with
me. However, I have been told that I will need permission from their father to cross
the border. I Am unable to contact him, as I have no idea where he is. I was granted
a divorce from him approximatley 7 years ago and since he never appeared for court I
was given sole custody of both children. What will I need in order for my children to
cross the border? We were thinking of traveling by bus or train. Thank-you for any

If you have full custody of the children then you do not need to have their father's
permission to bring them into Canada for a visit.
You should bring a copy of the court order which grants you full custody of the
children. You may not be asked to show anything, but better safe than sorry. Since
your children are teenagers, if immigration really had any doubts over whether they
should be with you, they would probably ask them.
