My wife has 4 years work experience as 'Business Development Executive'. She has 17 years education with Degree in M.B.A
what is the Occupation that she has to look in the GOL (general occupations list) in order to apply correctly ?

I guess she can be the principal applicant and together we get a score of 80 points,i have 8 years experience as system analyst and 16 years of education (Bachelor of Engineering)

pls advise

Dear Miller,

I saw your earlier statement.

I wanted to know, instead of me becoming the primary applicant and allowing my wife to be the principal applicant, i will get near 80.
If so, what will be her occupation in the GOL. she has MBA in marketing and works as Business Development executive.

As I said there is no more GOL under new law. You need to look into NOC to find
appropriate occupation title(s) and code(s) for your wife's work experience.

yea, my wife's occupation is listed in the NOC.

is it ok, if she becomes the main applicant ,since she has 17 yrs education and I become the dependent?

somehow if that is considered,we get to 80 !

Please note that it is not the fact that your wife's occupation/position title is
listed in NOC what is important. Your wife must have a work experience performing
most of main duties and all substantial duties in one or more occupations listed in
the top 3 bands of NOC as per description for each particular occupation. If her work
experience meets the criteria then yes, it will be better for you if she is the
principal applicant. Always (under the old law as well as under the new one) the best
qualified spouse should be the principal applicant.

This is my wife's occupation and listed in NOC :-
1122 Professional Occupations in Business Services to Management

/*Your occupation will appear in the “Results box, along with a four-digit number. If the first digit is 0, you have experience in Skill Type O. If the second digit is 1, 2 or 3, your work experience is in Skill Level A or B */

If the second digit is 1 in my case the skill level is A or B, what does it imply?

Second digit in NOC code indicates the band - so if it is "1" then occupation belongs
to Level A.

Work in any occupation with the second digit in NOC code as "0", "1" and "2" will
qualify as skilled work experience under new law.
